LYS-LS3-24SFP/8GT4XS

This is a 24-port Layer 3 switch with 24 × SFP ports (8 × combo ports) and four 10G SFP+ ports. It’s designed to serve as the core switch in a network and supply data to other switches. It doesn’t have built-in PoE, but it does support advanced features such as OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) and VCS (Virtual Chassis Stacking).

Product Overview

The Lysora LS3-24SFP/8GT4XS is multi-gigabit Layer 3 switch that is designed for extremely large networks, such as university campuses or multi-tenant commercial buildings. It has 24  SPF ports (8 × combo ports) and 4 × 10G SFP+ ports.

This switch is meant to serve as the backbone of your network – feeding into more basic switches that will ultimately connect to client devices. It does NOT include PoE, since it’s not meant to connect directly to devices.

As with all of Lysora’s equipment, you can manage it remotely through the Lysora Cloud Portal.

This is a layer 3 switch with a large packet buffer, improved switching capacity, and better forwarding rate compared with other Lysora switches. It also supports OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) and VCS (Virtual Chassis Stacking) – which are advanced features for enterprise level networks. You can see a summary below of all features supported on this model.

This switch also supports the following features:

  • DHCP Snooping – Set certain ports as trusted, which means only devices on those ports can assign DHCP addresses to the rest of your network (improves security).
  • Loop Prevention – Block the signal from any ports that are looped, preventing the network from crashing.
  • STP (spanning tree protocol) – Supports STP, RSTP, and MSTP for automatic failover, improving network redundancy.
  • Packet Capture & Detailed Syslog – Run packet captures directly on the switch, giving you flexibility for troubleshooting network issues.
  • Static Routing – Add static routes so that devices from separate VLANs can communicate with each other without needing to travel through the router.
  • DHCP Server – This switch can act as a DHCP server and hand out IP addresses to devices that are connected to it.
  • OSPF – The OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) protocol allows the switch to discover the shortest path for routes by itself, and automatically re-route if a link goes down.
  • VCS – As its name implies, Virtual Chassis Stacking lets you join multiple switches together and manage them as if they were a single switch.
