The Seagate SkyHawk series is designed for surveillance recorders that write video around the clock. These are CMR (conventional magnetic recording) drives with a 256MB cache and Seagate’s ImagePerfect firmware, which is tuned for smooth 24/7 recording from up to 64 HD cameras. They carry an annual workload rating of 180 TB/year, the same as standard Western Digital Purple drives.
Built-in rotational vibration (RV) sensors keep the drive performing in NVRs and storage arrays with up to 16 drive bays, so you can add drives later as storage needs grow. SkyHawk drives are backed by Seagate’s 3-year limited warranty.
