The Toshiba S300 Pro Series are designed specifically for video surveillance workloads. They use a 7200 rpm CMR (conventional magnetic recording) drive with a 512MB cache, tuned to deliver 24/7 performance for high-resolution video recording and streaming. They have an annual workload rating of 300 TB/year – well above the 180 TB/year rating of standard Western Digital Purple drives.
Built-in rotational vibration (RV) sensors compensate for vibration from neighbouring drives and cooling fans, which makes the S300 Pro a good fit for multi-bay NVRs and RAID storage arrays. These drives are backed by Toshiba’s 5-year limited warranty.
