Product Overview

This IQ-series NVR supports AI features such as face detection and Uniview AcuSearch Technology. Its built-in AI can also run smart intrusion prevention (SIP) on 4 channels and ultra motion detection (UMD) on 8 channels, including cameras that don’t have these features built in.

It supports up to sixteen cameras and has sixteen built-in PoE ports, with a 240 W power budget (up to 30 W per port). Two SATA slots accept hard drives up to 16 TB each, with RAID 1 mirroring. It can record at a resolution of up to 16MP, supports 8 alarm inputs/2 alarm outputs, and can be easily added to your phone by scanning the QR code on the bottom of the NVR.

NVR502-16B-P16-IQ vs. NVR502-16B-P16 – Do You Need the AI Version?

The NVR502-16B-P16 has the same 16 PoE ports, 240 W PoE budget and two drive bays. The difference is AI processing built into the recorder:

  • Smart detection on the recorder: face detection, SIP on 4 channels and UMD on 8 channels (NVR502-16B-P16-IQ) vs. none, uses compatible Uniview AI cameras (NVR502-16B-P16)
  • Search by image: supported, with vehicle picture libraries (NVR502-16B-P16-IQ) vs. not supported (NVR502-16B-P16)
  • Size: 380 × 322 × 53 mm, 1U (both models)
