Product Overview
The Uniview NVR501-08B-P8 is a compact 8-channel network video recorder with 8 built-in PoE ports, so each camera connects with a single network cable for both power and video. It records at up to 16MP per camera and supports Ultra 265, H.265 and H.264 compression to keep bandwidth and storage use low.
The 8 PoE ports share a 75 W power budget (up to 30 W per port, IEEE 802.3af/at). A single SATA bay accepts a surveillance hard drive up to 16 TB, and the HDMI output supports 4K monitors, with a VGA output that shows the same image at the same time.
You can view and play back cameras remotely from the UNV-Link app or a web browser, with up to 128 remote users.

NVR501-08B-P8 vs. NVR502-08B-P8 – Which 8-Channel NVR Do You Need?
The NVR501-08B-P8 and the NVR502-08B-P8 both record 8 cameras at up to 16MP with 8 built-in PoE ports. The NVR502-08B-P8 is the step-up model, with more storage, PoE power and connectivity:
- Hard drive bays: 1, up to 16 TB (NVR501) vs. 2, up to 32 TB total with RAID 1 (NVR502)
- PoE budget: 75 W (NVR501) vs. 130 W (NVR502)
- Network port: 10/100 Mbps (NVR501) vs. Gigabit (NVR502)
- Alarm inputs/outputs: none (NVR501) vs. 8/2 (NVR502)
- Video outputs: HDMI and VGA show the same image (NVR501) vs. independent HDMI and VGA displays (NVR502)
- Size: 260 × 222 × 47 mm, 1U (NVR501) vs. 380 × 322 × 53 mm, 1U (NVR502)
Choose the NVR501-08B-P8 for smaller sites where one hard drive is enough. Choose the NVR502-08B-P8 when you need longer recording time, drive mirroring or alarm integration. Only need four cameras? See the NVR501-04B-P4.
